Running

No, not "running" as in one foot in front of the other!
I'm talking about running out of time.
Or running around like a chicken without a head.
THAT kind of running.
And I suck at both.

And to add insult to injury,
I am sick.
Think it's strep throat since I've never had
a sore throat like this.
Waiting for the office to open
and hopefully I can get in to see the doc.
(Cross fingers, please!)

This "throat stuff" is coming in on the heels
of surgery.
It's just been three weeks and two days
since that happened.
That put me way behind - I think I "lost" about two weeks.

No time for such nonsense.
No time whatsoever.

This is the first year - in a hundred years, maybe -
that no Christmas cards will be leaving our home
to our family and friends.

I really feel badly about that
mainly because it's something that I love to do.
But sometimes,
there's just no way to avoid it
and I refuse to stress myself out.

A couple of days ago,
I really put the peddle to the metal
and got the snowflakes finished.

You may remember I previously made 68.
Then I created 27 for The Runner
to give to the children he transports to/fro school.

Also created a few that I wanted to give
to some special people.

While digging around, I found some left over
from last year.
Only a few - but I'm not complaining.
I blew the cobwebs off
and called it a win!

That allowed me to wrap them up and
give to the girls in the leasing office,
leaving a few for me to give away
as my annual Random Act of Kindness.
Passed out one yesterday to a sweet little girl
and now I have two left.
Am hoping I will find someone at the doctor's office
or at the pharmacy.
It better be in one of those two places
because I'm thinking I wont be going anywhere else
until this crud is gone!

I also wrapped up one of those large Hersey candy bars
for a sweet lady friend of mine.
I love the silver - it reminds me so much of her
and her beautiful silver hair.

I'm off.
Time to shower so that I'm ready to walk out the door
in case the doc can take me early.

Kosec OUT.

Here comes SuZe Snowflake

That's exactly what I said
as I delivered these snowflakes.

Second year in a row I created ornaments
for Ashley, my esthetician,
at Ashley's Facial & Brows.
She gives them to her clients
after being pampered.

This year, all of her ornaments are snowflakes.
Some are purple, some are brown and some are silver.
And they are all extremely labor-intensive.
Lots of die cutting!

And now I have nearly 40 more to create.

Not sure what I was thinking
when I chose glitter-y paper
to put under the glitter-y snowflakes.
Certainly doesn't do the flakes any justice.

But …
if you are local
and want one, be sure to make an appointment
because there are only 76 to choose from.

So many beautiful snowflakes

I couldn't wait to post these!!!!

To think that I've had this die for about five years
and never ever did I ever make one snowflake.

I tried, but just couldn't master it so I gave up.

Then this year came along and I was determined.
I'm thinking after creating 50 (so far)
I've made up for lost time.

The reindeer, the angels, the birds
and now the snowflakes.
Ashley will be giving these out to her clients
as a way of saying "thank you."

If you're local and would like more info
on Ashley, please ask - she's the best!

They're waiting to show off so let's get to it ...

What you see on the front

is exactly what's on the back.
They'll look good from either side.
Great for hanging on the tree,
in the window, on a door knob
or a drawer pull.

Just like the birds, they all have their own personality.
This one is no exception.

The texture on this one is so unique.
I love the rusted snowflake
against the softness of the white-on-white satin-y paper.

No matter what your Christmas décor may be,
one of these will definitely fit right in.
Yellow, pink, orange and purple,
not to mention that gem in the center.

Periwinkle with aqua polka dots, deep purple
with green peeking out between the layers.

This one reminds me of wallpaper
from years gone by.
Soft greens and pinks.

This one is a little different
with a soft green, yellow and pink.

Oh my - the traditional red and green
with a touch of white.

Rust, harvest gold and a splash of ecru.

Aqua and purple.  So pretty!

I love lime green, pinks and orange together.

Hot pink, purple and yellow.
I can see the teenagers loving this one.

Another soft green with white and pink.

Coral, yellow and mint green.
This one is so pretty in person.

At first I wasn't sure about the color combination
until I added the royal blue snowflake.
And then it all came together.

Brown, beige and ecru with a white snowflake
on top of the wood snowflake.

Just like the birds,
I saved my favorite for last.
Love the hot coral with the animal print.
Somebody's going to fall in love with this immediately.

I'll be sure to post more snowflakes
once I've delivered what's already finished.
Also have a few more to create, too.

Please tell me which one speaks to you.
I love hearing your feedback.
