I share my birthday with Blake

Today both Blake and I will celebrate.
He will be kicking off 45.
Me?
I'm past the age of kicking!!!

I was asked to create a card for him,
with a request it be golf themed.

After his wife, Amy, received the card
she told me he collects watches.
Score!

Happy birthday, Blake!

PS - at least I didn't have to make myself a card!

Back-to-Back Birthdays

The older one was born a day after the younger one.
These two sisters probably had to share
their cake and party with each other.

Yesterday and today.
Happy birthday, sisters!

We missed the celebrations

… but what we understand,
a good time was had by all.

Our friend, Tammy, celebrated her birthday
this past Saturday.

Bill asked me to create a card for her.
And here it is!

Happy belated, Tammy!

A two-year old

Not sure I can remember that far back
when I had a two-year old.

One thing I do remember though … having a four-year old
was worse.
They were trying to be so independent
yet didn't quite know how.

One little boy begins his two-year journey today.
I spoke with his mamma the other day
and she said "the terrible two's started two months ago."
Good luck with that then!

I created this shadowbox for him
from my daughter.
Unknown to either of us,
his room is decorated in a Seuss theme.
Works for me!

Happy birthday, Justice.

Thank You

… from the very bottom of my heart!!!

My friend, this man,
did something extremely unexpected
and definitely appreciated.

Except I didn't get it!

He had an "oops" and left my name off
of the Presidential Awards this year.
But it was quickly rectified.

To show his regrets,
he bought me a large bouquet of flowers.

At the ceremony,
before giving out any of the awards,
he made note of his "oops"
in front of everybody.

He called my name to come up to accept the bouquet.

But guess what?

I was there, wasn't feeling well,
and slipped out just moments before
this presentation.

I didn't even know about this until a couple of weeks later.
It's been a while since this happened
and I have been meaning to get a card out to him.

He deserves it.

Thank you, Lou, from the bottom of my heart.

Another New Friend

Going through the
Euless Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association
was one of the better things I've ever done for myself.

I've made so many long-lasting good friends
and too many acquaintances to mention
(nearly 10-years worth!)

Billie is one of my latest friends
to add to my bouquet.

She was assigned to be my helper
at the Kids' Fire Camp.

Even though we only spent a couple of days together,
I think I can say she is now my friend.

And I told her that in this card!

She's heading to Japan ...

I understand
that Mrs. Stewart will be celebrating
her 88th birthday today.
AND … traveling to Japan in a few short months.
I don't know about you, but I applaud her.

Enjoy your day and especially enjoy Japan!

My Daughter

I won't be divulging her age.
But I will say that she's just 19 days shy
of 21 years younger than me.
You do the math.

If you know her,
you know she loves her teddy bears.

And she loves sunflowers, too.

If you've ever been in her home,
you will probably have seen a vase of flowers.

Happy birthday!
Celebrate all month long.

Ben is celebrating today

Indeed, a cat lover.
Am wondering if his little ball of fur
will help him celebrate.
Looks like these guys are peeking in
to say "Happy Birthday!"

What a great day to have a birthday

My due date was June 30.
When that came and went,
I'd hoped for a Fourth of July baby.
Nope - she wasn't ready.

But this little firecracker was ready.
Madie is a softball pro and is celebrating today!

My friend's friend shares this birth date, too.
I hope you have a spectacular day, Monica.

Enjoy your day, ladies!
