GIRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLFRIEND

If you know Beverly,
you love Beverly
but not as much as I do!

I met her in June 1995 - she was one of the many people
that interviewed me for a job.

We hit it off immediately and became
work buddies.
And then forever buddies.

We work'd together,
we laugh'd together,
we cry'd together,
we breakfast'd together,
we lunch'd together
and we dinner'd together.

But most important?
We have remained friends all these years.

There's nothing she wouldn't do for me
and there's nothing I wouldn't do for her
(except maybe eat tofu!)

Enjoy your day sweet Girrrrrrllllllfriend!

My friend, my friend

Julie is celebrating today!
She'll be going to Uncle Julio's
with the family.
Lots of grandbabies to love on.
It's what she loves the most.

Dropped this off at her house yesterday.
The picture looks just like
(a younger) Bella dog of hers.

A front and back picture
of a hanging card.
Perfect for her new scrapbook room!

Celebrate all month long!
And SOON we will go out and tear up the town
celebrating our birthdays.

We missed the celebrations

… but what we understand,
a good time was had by all.

Our friend, Tammy, celebrated her birthday
this past Saturday.

Bill asked me to create a card for her.
And here it is!

Happy belated, Tammy!

Another New Friend

Going through the
Euless Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association
was one of the better things I've ever done for myself.

I've made so many long-lasting good friends
and too many acquaintances to mention
(nearly 10-years worth!)

Billie is one of my latest friends
to add to my bouquet.

She was assigned to be my helper
at the Kids' Fire Camp.

Even though we only spent a couple of days together,
I think I can say she is now my friend.

And I told her that in this card!

It's all her fault

Well, not actually a "fault" ...
but it's because of her
that I started this crazy art journey!

And because of that,
I was able to create a birthday card
just for her.

I miss our 5am walks
but most of all I miss you.

Happy birthday, friend!

A mish-mash

I've had some of these cards in my gallery
for a while ... just never wrote a blog post.

Last weekend,
Miss B graduated from college.
All that hard work paid off.
What a great day for her!
Congratulations.

One of The Runner's co-workers
is going through therapy.
He doesn't often ask me to create a card,
but this time he did.
Every once in a while,
when I know a card is going to be hand delivered,
I go the extra mile on the envelope.
I hope this puts a smile on Dora's face.

Talk about "putting a smile ..."
this card and what she wrote
certainly put smiles on both of our faces.
Gosh - who wouldn't want a friend like Beverly?

My Friends Are The Best

Such a wonderful way to celebrate
the first day of Spring.

In the mail was the sweetest
handmade heart
along with a gift card to Panera Bread
(for when I'm not feeling like cooking!)

If you know Linda,
you know she's a BOHO kinda girl.
What better way to recognize her love
than with this card?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
my sweet friend.
You ROCK!

My friend, my friend. My long-time friend.

Her name is Debbi.
And her birthday is today.

We've been friends since 1995 or 1996.
We live just a few miles apart
but don't see each other often.

Next time we see each other
will be to celebrate her birthday over lunch.
And I can't wait!

Dropped this off earlier today.
Hope she loves it.

Happy birthday, Debbi.
Celebrate all month long
because "great things take time."

Not my norm ...

Got some of those new inks a while back.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that buys things.
Things I just "have to have"
and then leave them in the packaging
for days/weeks on end.

Finally got them out and started to play.
This is actually the very first experiment
and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Once I decided I liked it well enough to actually mail it,
I chose this image.
Top to bottom, lighter to darker
and the colors kinda match.

You know Vicki ...
she's my friend that knits nests.
She loves going to farm to table events
and this image reminds me of her.

Happy birthday, special friend.

I love my friend.

And I miss her.
Bunches!

We used to see each other every day.
We walked the streets at 5:30 in the morning.
(I was so fit then!!!!!)

Today she celebrates a birthday.
I wish we could have started our day
with a walk.

Miss you, Pat!

Two birthdays, same day

My friend, Bobbie, celebrates

and my friend's dad celebrates.

Enjoy your celebrations.
Happy birthday!

She's like my imaginary friend.

Or maybe a pretend friend.
Doesn't matter what I call her,
she's still my friend.
My blog friend.
There.  That's better.

I've never met her
but I swear I saw her.
A couple of years ago,
as I was standing at the register at JoAnn's,
I looked up at the door and in she walked.
Well, in my mind, it was her.

The woman that entered the store
was a spittin' image of Sandi.
Even though I'd never seen her in person,
and only saw pictures of her on her blog,
that woman could have passed as Sandi's twin.

I couldn't resist sending her a birthday card.
She received it the other day.
Just a couple of days early.
Just the way I like for my cards to arrive.

Happy birthday
to my imaginary, pretend blog friend.

My mother's friend

... became my friend.
And today is my friend's birthday.

She usually gets a card with a bird.
This year, she got a sweet pink rose.

Happy birthday, Leta.
My wish is for you to have a healthy and happy year.

Wednesday, February 8, 2017

on this day ...

Carol was born.
And this world is a better place
because of her birth.
If you are fortunate enough to know her,
you will agree.
She's the best of the best.

Enjoy your birthday, my dear friend.

Bet you wish you were in that chair right now!

I miss you so much!

There's always enough to go around

Glitter, that is.

When my favorite holiday (Christmas)
marries one of my favorite loves (glitter)
then we have a sparkling and magical event.

We've been walking on glitter,
swiping it off of our faces,
brushing it off of our clothes
and just keep on going.
We never skipped a beat!

It's the season, I say.
It's supposed to be like this.

Good thing I am sharing the glitter
because there's lots here.

The other day I delivered this to a friend.

And I then drove down the street
and delivered this one.

Since I was out and about,
these three angels made their way
to three other friends' homes.

Received texts from friends
that received our Christmas cards.

First one was from a long-ago good friend.

Last year, my dear friend, Vicki,
wrote this under a photograph
in this blog post:
"this photo would make a beautiful Christmas card..."

I immediately dropped what I was doing
and printed the image and made the card.
And saved it for nearly a whole year.

She tells me they hope to go back to Appalachia
next week.
Who knows ... perhaps she'll take a picture
of next year's card!

Later on today I'll be giving these
to two sisters and a brother.
Cute little kids and I think they need
some Christmas joy.

I hope they're surprised
and enjoy a pre-Christmas gift.

!! Happy Birthday !!

This card goes out to a friend's mamma.
Since it's an October birthday,
I chose an Autumn image.
Aren't the colors magnificent?

Happy birthday!

I can't remember how many years

... but it's been a few
since Greg and Olivia
said "I do!"

Today they celebrate one more year.

Enjoy your day and enjoy each other.

Miles and years separate us

But we're still good friends.
I wish I could be with you today
to help you celebrate.
I know we'd do some crazy things - as always.

Even though we won't be together,
that doesn't mean I won't be thinking of you.

Happy Birthday, Debi.

Our friend

I could write a book about Paul.
But I won't.
Most of it would be "X" rated.
Well, maybe not "X" but definitely "PG"
... and that's why we love him.

He and The Runner have a thing about chickens.
Not feathery ones like this one,
but rubber chickens.

Like I said, I won't go there.
But this card went to him.

He is celebrating a birthday today.
So, from us to you, "Cluck Cluck"
(in chicken-talk, that means
Happy Birthday!)

It's a special day

When a special friend celebrates her birthday,
it's a very special day.

Happy birthday, Julie!
