THE DAY OF LOVE

I think February 14th is so special
whether you're in a boy/girl relationship or not.
I mean … who doesn't love love?

This card is from a dog
going to his former human roomie.

This one is going to a girl's parents!

And this one is going to a cousin.

How sweet is it that a woman
sends a Valentine to her mom?

And one to her mother-in-love!!!

To a wife.

Another man is giving this to his wife, the love of his life.

You know the old saying, right?
The shoemaker's kid always has holes in his shoes.
Well, I'm not a shoemaker, but a cardmaker,
and my poor husband never gets a card from me.
Doesn't mean I don't love him though.

On this day of love ...

I wish that all hearts are full of love!

Whether you celebrate Valentine's Day or not,
it really IS the day of hearts and love.

I like to think of this day as being half-way
through February and closer to Spring
and warmer weather.

In case you didn't know,
today is also National Organ Donor Day.

Here's a heart I sent to my sister
several years ago (but not for Valentine's Day.)
I kept saying I was going to make another one
but haven't done so yet.
Yet.

A card from Carey to James.

A card from James to Carey.

A card for my friend's niece.

This is my favorite sentiment/image of all times
and it's for my friend's friend, Cass.

And last but not least,
I created one for my neighbor, Jaylen.
But I forgot to take a picture.
Drat!

The day of LOVE

I don't know about you
but I think every day should be
the day of LOVE.
Not just today.
But every day.

But since today is Valentine's Day,
let's celebrate some love!

And check out the inside:
I just love using the same image
on multiple cards - especially vintage images.
I never know exactly what I'm going to get.
But I'm always pleasantly surprised!
Check these out.

Ahead of schedule - on purpose!!!

Facebook is the best.
Through it, I reconnected
with a grade school friend.

We've talked here since May 2011
(can it really be that long?)

In our conversations,
of course, we talked about mutual friends.
Several have passed away.
She included two obituaries
in a Christmas card.

Our conversations always came back
to one person.
I mentioned that I had a picture of him
and promised to dig for it and send it to her.

That finally happened
so I included it in her Valentine's Day card.
Not only was the card a surprise,
but the picture was as well.

I mailed the card on February first.
Early, on purpose,
so that she could enjoy it before the holiday.
She received it!

Happy Valentine's Day, Joyce!

It was the day of LOVE ...

How romantic to marry on Valentine's Day!!!
Congratulations, Pat and Don.
I know you two enjoyed your day and each other.
I just couldn't resist going with the reds and the pinks
and the hearts!!!!

And of course, Valentines.
Did you get one yesterday?

Cupid, draw back your bow ...

Will you be Mine?

Love the old fashioned couple.

I LOVE YOU

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

To the One
I hold dear

Kisses, aka slurp

Be my Valentine

With fondest
Love to my
Valentine

The Runner.
Poor guy ... he never gets a card from me.

Random Acts of Kindness for Valentine's Day

This card went to my friend, Betty.
Left it at her doorstep yesterday while out running errands.

I couldn't leave my friend, Beverly, out either.
She's been a good friend for 21 years.
I can't tell you what I wrote inside,
but she will LOVE it.
(Expecting a call tonight or tomorrow from her
because she'll have to laugh with me.)

This little bluebird of happiness went all the way to San Antonio
to my friend, Helen.

She can hang her anywhere she wants to
and keep it up year-round.
Also to be hung is her Valentine.

Next year, I'll start a little earlier.
Love performing little RAKs to those least expecting
... but most deserving.

Busy {glittered} hands

I didn't want to post anything until I chose the winner for the three cards
from my Grow Your Blog post.
Once again, congratulations, Erin Houghton!  I hope you enjoy them.

Lots and lots of doilies, hearts and flowers, glitter, reds and pinks - Valentines.
Here's a peek at what went out this year.  First up is one for Lisa.

James gave his wife and his mother a card ... how sweet is that?
Bettcha the first one is for his wife.
Yep - am sure of it.

You have my heart
for my whole life.

... and his mother is the one he holds dear.

Another man gave his mother a card.
Last year he gave her a rose bush and now here's her rose.
How thoughtful, right?

Glenda gave her motorcycle rider this one.
Quite apropos!

Norma got her white roses again.

No pinks or reds for this card.
Sandi loves the color orange.
If you have ever been in their home, you would never doubt this statement.
And I just found out her new craft room is turquoise!!!

For it was not into my ear you whispered,
but into my heart.
It was not my lips you kissed,
but my soul.

... and Pete is loved.

Lou finally has his sweet valentine home after a two month hospital stay.
Welcome home, Vicki!

Celia and Mark.
Perfect for them.

Julie loves her family.  And here's proof ...

 This card is to celebrate
Valentine's Day and their 34-year anniversary.
"Love was made for you and me"

Congratulations M and D!!!

And last, but not least,
another combination valentine/anniversary card.
Happy Day, Bart and Laura.

I so admire anybody that doesn't struggle with "boy" stuff.
Especially teenage boys!
I created little paper mache boxes
for one of the bus drivers to give to her children.
She filled them with candy - the best part!
I was able to find little "monster" stickers to put on the boy's boxes.
This way they weren't "too mushy or too girlie" ...

Two girls ride the bus so I was able to bust out the glitter on theirs.

And Rose, the monitor got one, too.

Here they are before getting their coats on.

And here they are all warmly dressed up for the party.

Happy "belated" Valentine's Day to all of you.
I hope your day was romantic, as it should be.
