PARTY PUMPS

Time for Katie to slip into these pretty red party pumps
and give it all she's got.

Celebrate big, my soon-to-be granddaughter!

Can't wait to meet you.
Wedding day will be here before you know it.

Happy birthday!

BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES

The card was delivered on time.
But this post somehow slipped through the cracks.

Sweet little Mr. J celebrated July 17
and he turned three years old.

Suppose he enjoyed this card?
Of course he did.
What three-year old doesn't like silly faces?

I know it was a great day for you
doing all things fun:
running, playing, swimming,
going to the gym, cake,
friends and noisemakers.

COUSINS. TWICE REMOVED?

Gosh if I know!

My late Aunt Margie knew though.

My great aunt's son
married Lois.
You figure it out!

Doesn't really matter, I guess.
What matters is that today is her birthday!

Kick up your heels and celebrate!

Live it up and celebrate with those you love.

ALMOST ON THE SAME DAY

Sisters.
The younger one was born the day before
the older one.

Wonder if each gets their own birthday party
or do they celebrate together on one day?

Rachel and Taylor,
enjoy your day
whether you celebrate together or separately.

OUT OF THE BLUE (sort of)

The Runner and I graduated in the same class.
So did Charlene.

Since graduation (a gazillion years ago!)
our paths with Charlene only briefly crossed one time.

About 15(?) years ago, we made contact on FB.
We had a few short conversations at that time
and none since.

Out of the blue a couple of months ago
we received an e-mail from her telling us
she and her husband were planning a trip here.
Their goal was to go to a Texas Ranger's game
and they were inviting us.

Not our thing.

But we did agree to meet for dinner, which we did.

Such a nice visit
(even brought the yearbook!)
and it was a good thing because a few people
we mentioned she had to make sure she was
thinking of the right person.

This card was sent as a token of our appreciation
and to thank them for dinner.
Thanks, Charlene and Jim.

We need to plan a trip to St. Louis!!

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNT

I sent a message to a Facebook Friend
asking if she'd like to trade products.

Nothing big.
Just something different.

She had in her possession something.
I had the same product, just something different.
Both could be used the same way.
With a different look.

She agreed and immediately sent me her version.

Took me a couple of weeks,
because I wanted to make a card to go with my trade.

Then I decided to add to it.
A surprise.
A Random Act of Kindness.
Something to brighten her day.

I sent her a bunch (and I mean a lot)
of supplies that I knew she could/would use
along with one of my cards.

Wait.
First the envelope.
Because the embellishments were chunky
and because I wasn't putting the card in the mail as is,
I slit the envelope and slid the right side of the card
into the envelope.

Once securely inside,
I closed the card over the top of the envelope.
(If you look closely, you can see
the stenciled brick on the envelope
peeking out behind the card.)

PS - Michelle truly is "my biggest fan"
because she always leaves the sweetest comments.

HAPPY LABOR DAY

… to me!!!

"X" number of years ago, I labored.

It was the day my first-born was born.
Alescia Lynn.

I love mint green and the palest of pinks together.
And she loves carnations.
Win/Win!

And one from her friend.

Happy birthday, sweet baby girl.

IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO FIND SOMEONE YOU NEED

… to make you look better, that is!

Thank you, Sheila, for your expertise.
You are the person I've been waiting for.

APROPOS

Today is the day.
Independence Day.
And it's apropos that I post this on this day.

I know you all know my friend, Vicki.
She's the ever-so-talented sweet girl
that knits nests.

Her latest Freebird Nest is spectacular.
It's all things Americana!
Please check out her blog
to read all about it
and look at her beautiful photos.

I, along with others, play (a small) part in her nests.
Here are the birds I created for this designer series.

She wraps my stamped tissue papers around the nest
and then ties the birds onto the package.

If you are interested,
this October she will be releasing a very special nest.
Keep your eyes open - it's going to be fantastic!

MY LITTLE FRIEND

Remember Jaylen?
The Sweet Pea that used to live
across the hall from us?

She may have moved away,
but she always remembers me.

When I was sick a few weeks ago,
she left a bouquet of roses
and a card outside our door.

She remembered so much of what I taught her
about card making
and used some of the pieces I gave her.

Here's the thank you card
I dropped off at her door the other day.

She's way too young to remember walking on cans.
Heck - her parents are too young to remember!

FRIENDS ARE THE BEST

Go ahead.
Ask Kate and Karen!

They are always doing nice things for each other.
To show her gratitude,
Kate asked me to make one of my cards.

No flowers, she likes the color red and
Karen is "into" yoga.

Works for me!
(And she loved it!)

THANK YOU AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY

My friend (Nance) and her friend (Cynthia) went to Hawaii.
Cynthia took some absolutely gorgeous photos
that I just happened to see.

Not being shy at all,
I asked Cynthia if I could please use them in my art
(giving photo credit, of course!)

She said "yes" but only if I would make her a card.
I was very happy to oblige.
She asked for one for her mom's birthday,
which is today.

Happy birthday to Cynthia's mama.

PS - this is not one of her photos.
