CATCHUP ... BUT NOT FOR YOUR HAMBURGER

I've been waiting to post some of these cards.

The time has now come to share!

First up is a card sent to a friend

that's going through some rough patches.

She recently told me that her ancestors

used to have one of these photo booths.

Fitting, right?

Hoping this brightens Patty's world.

Another (very late - but not forgotten)

thank you card to very dear friends.

I am still thanking people

for their over-the-top generosity for giving to my son.

People that have never met him.

People that I've never met.

Vicki is the best of the best with a heart of gold (and then some!)

Somebody saw the above card on the kitchen island

and asked me to use the same image on a card for his wife.

Same, but with a completely different look.

He also saw this image on another card

and asked me to create a card for his mom.

You've already seen this image on an anniversary

card for our friends.

Always amazes me just how different an image looks

just by changing up everything that adorns the card.

Never too late (especially in Texas)

for a October birthday picnic.

How about another birthday card?

Bill celebrated a couple of days ago.

Well, if you can't take her to Paris,

then give her a little Paris for your 31st wedding anniversary.

OUR FRIENDS

Paul and Carol are the best!!!!!

Today they celebrate their wedding anniversary.

I remember them telling the story of their engagement.

He mentioned marriage.

She immediately dug in her purse for her calendar.

After a quick look,

she said "Well, I'm available on the 19th!"

So, October 19 was the wedding date.

And today they celebrate.

How's this for an October anniversary card?

Wish we could be there to break bread together.

IT'S BEEN 27 YEARS

I will never forget!

My daughter married the man of her dreams.

He is now my son-in-law.

We were in Anchorage, Alaska,

and nearly froze - even though

it was only the 25th of September.

The lovebirds on their day.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Today Joshua and Kelli celebrate three years

of marital bliss.

That's a total of 1,095 days.

Unless leap year happened!

Here's to many, many more years.

Plus extra days for all the leap years.

That's right.

I'll probably never know what she looks like.

But I know this dude doesn't look like her groom.

That's okay - we'll just pretend

these are guests dropping by

to help them celebrate their anniversary.

It's kind of a thing we say in our home.

When something just doesn't go according to plan,

or something out of the ordinary,

that's what we say to each other.

This morning he didn't say it,

but I'm betting he thought about it.

"You didn't tell me that part!!!"

What a way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

The wife is down and out with some kind of junk.

Sore throat, swollen glands, inflamed sinuses

and just general blaaahhhhaaaaa feelings.

Must say though - I'm feeling a lot better each day.

Maybe even well enough to sneak out to dinner.

I'm quite confident the contagious part is gone.

Might just be a waste of money

because I don't have much of an appetite

but if I can scrounge up the energy

to get myself ready, we'll go out.

Geeze - 25 years.

That's a huge milestone!

And to think it all began in the 9th grade.

You see, that was our first date.

Here's a mini album I created for him

back in 2008 and each year I love to revisit it.

Our wedding was our FOURTH date! 

You'll never taste a better cake than this one!

But what does that mean?

Well, TCU is Amy's No. 1 school

and her No. 1 "frog."

And Amy is Blake's No. 1 girl.

He requested an anniversary card

"with a TCU flair" and this is what I came up with.

First the card.

And then the envelope.

I love it when cards are hand-delivered

because then I can sometimes go crazy on the envelopes.

WOW - 30 years!!!!!

I'm guessing they celebrated this past weekend

but the actual anniversary date was yesterday!

In these times,

reaching that 30 year milestone

is nearly unheard of.

Good for them!

He gave her this card.

Nothing says 'love' like roses!

She didn't want "a card" - nope.

She bought him this

and wanted something for the back.

I tried my best to replicate

and here's what I came up with.

The size is just a tad smaller,

the harlequin print is there

and of course, a nest for that little (love) bird.

When we both lived in Ohio,

we spent a lot of time together.

and mostly Laughing.

60 Years ... how wonderful

My friend was invited to a party.

Not just ANY party,

but a 60 year wedding anniversary party.

Isn't that wonderful?

I was asked to create a special card for them.

26 Years

Where in the world has 26 years gone?

It seems like just yesterday

that my son and daughter-in-law

said "I do!"

And it was yesterday that they celebrated

those 26 years.

Happy Anniversary, you two.

Did you ever lose a whole month?

Well golly, I sure did!

I spent three days in the hospital

the first of February.

And then I spent four days in the hospital

the end of February.

In between was spent in a drug-induced stupor.

Wasn't fun, let me tell you.

Fortunately, I was ahead of schedule

on making cards.

But I wasn't ahead of schedule

in writing and scheduling blog posts.

Therefore, JR and Kay's anniversary card is late
to being shared.

Really late.
At least they received it on time!

Many, many years for them.
