Some Wickedly Wonderful Cards

Let's just get right after it!
The saying goes "save the best for last"
but I'm putting this one first because it's my favorite.

I had duplicates of this cabinet card.
Believe it or not, but these two women
are distant relatives of mine!

My cousin gifted me with lots of photos
a few years ago and I couldn't not use this one
as a Halloween card.

The majority of my cards take me
about two-three hours to create.
This one, start to finish,
took me three hours and 50 minutes.
Let's round it up and call it four hours.
All of the flowers and twigs and leaves and branches
were die cut and inked and stained and spritzed
to hug the broom.

Do you love this card?
Or does it frighten you?

This card is pretty simple.
Not many "ingredients" but I think it packs a punch
in the frightful department.

Purple is the new black as far as witches go.
"Her immortal
beauty casts
a bewitching
spell of
foreboding."

Scary and creepy man and doggy skeletons.

A sweet card
for a sweet six-month old little girl.

What two-year old little boy
doesn't like all things creepy and crawly.
And Disney?

It's what all five-year old little girls love.
Pinks, purples, hearts
and a selection of brooms and witches capes and hats!

House Haunted!!!
Did you notice that I switched up the words?
Looks to me like this house truly is haunted!

This dude was fun to work with.
His face just was too kind looking for
a Halloween card.
So I let him peek through the skeleton mask,
making sure his beard hung below it.
Actually, this isn't really even a card.
It's a tag, leaving room on the back
for some frightful words and a signature.

And, of course, the birds!

I'm hoping all of Carolyn's goblins enjoyed their cards.

That's it for this year, folks!
Now go dive into that stash of candy
and enjoy your Halloween.

Trick or Treat!

Double, Double Toil and Trouble; Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble

Well I'll be darn!
Halloween is happening again this year!

Know what that means?
Halloween cards!

I'm kinda partial to this one.
Not sure why
but perhaps it's the bird and bats.

And what's not to love about this one?
All witches don't have cackle and be scary.

I'm betting this witch isn't scary either.

Now this image is just a little scary.
I certainly wouldn't want to be out on that boat
with a night sky like that!

How sweet is this young-un
popping out of the pumpkin?

Mask or no mask,
I still recognize Snoopy, don't you?

Another sweet witch.

And another scary card!

Here's hoping tomorrow night
is FANG-tastic!

WOW - 30 years!!!!!

I'm guessing they celebrated this past weekend
but the actual anniversary date was yesterday!
In these times,
reaching that 30 year milestone
is nearly unheard of.

Good for them!

He gave her this card.
Nothing says 'love' like roses!

She didn't want "a card" - nope.
She bought him this
and wanted something for the back.

I tried my best to replicate
and here's what I came up with.
The size is just a tad smaller,
the harlequin print is there
and of course, a nest for that little (love) bird.

Happy anniversary, James and Carey.
May you double the years together
and then some more.

Some call him "Uncle Bill"

And guess what?
"Uncle Bill" celebrated his birthday yesterday.

I'm sure his family and friends
treated him right.

Here's one of the cards he received.

Happy birthday, Uncle Bill.

Bettcha somebody's celebrating big!

And I bettcha that somebody is Krista!
And two cards!

One from her mamma.
She suggested I use this picture of her
and then do my magic around it.

The second card is from her co-worker and friend.
Love the Autumn flowers for an Autumn birthday.
And had to throw in a little bling, too.

Happy birthday, Krista.
Do it up big today and then keep celebrating!

Our Friends

No, this isn't really them.
But it could be them.
He's just that cray-cray!

We sure do miss them!
When we both lived in Ohio,
we spent a lot of time together.
Eating.
Laughing.
Talking.
Eating
and mostly Laughing.
Ohhhhhhhh, the stories we told.

Today they celebrate a special day.
Their anniversary.
Keep on honeymooning, you two!

Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday, dear Emilie.
Happy birthday to you!!!!!

Go ahead.
Sit down on that chippy metal chair
with all the flowers at your feet.
Celebrate!

Baby shower!!

Today Hayley will be receiving many gifts for her daughter.
How exciting!

I remember receiving soft receiving blankets,
bibs, diapers, towels and sheet sets.
And a stroller and a high chair.
All needed items.

Hayley will receive this card I created just for her.
This image is one of my favorites.
I hope she likes it!

Won't be long now
before you bring your little bundle of love home.

Two cards, one birthday girl

How lucky is she?

One from her sister.
How can you not love this porch
and those beautiful Autumn flowers?

And one from her niece.
The vessel is beautiful, the background is beautiful
and the roses take the cake!

Happy birthday, Penny.
I hope your birthday celebrations
last all month long.
Make October your birthday pageant month.

Another trip around the sun

There's just something about a monochromatic card
that is so soothing to the eyes.
And especially so when it's
in shades of white.

A little bit vintage, a little bit romantic.
Both perfect to say 'happy birthday, Julie."

Come Fly With Me

My cousin retired and celebrated
his 65th birthday on Monday!

Here is the mini album I created for him.
Thanks, Frank Sinatra,
this title was quite fitting.

Many moons ago, in 1992,
Mike was working toward his 737 Type Rating
so that he could fly commercial
after his retirement from the Air Force.

It just so happened that I was in Tucson
at that time and he took me up in this
itty-bitty little plane.
(Of course, this was before I became deathly afraid to fly!)

Here is Mike on the step ladder fueling.
What you can't see is me also standing
on a step ladder.
(I'm under the red arrow - and you can see one leg.)
Since this album is all about him
and not all about me, I covered me up.

You can see his hand at the controls
and in the driver's seat.
The pull-out tag is one of his quotes.

Touch and Go.
WOW - what an experience that was!

Here is his business card
as well as a copy of his badge.
I'm sure every minute up in the sky
was A Day to Remember!

If you read closely,
he certainly has something to be proud of.
He was named Pilot of the Quarter in 2009.
What an accomplishment!

Congratulations, Mike!

In this picture, he is pointing at his name.
And he most definitely is a well-traveled guy.

I'm not sure of the exact date,
but it has to be 20+ years ago.
Looks like his granddaughter got to fly
on the Buddy Pass.

Aren't these planes great
all lined up?
Love this picture.

And a copy of his Medical Certificate.
The plane was a pin
with the pin part trimmed off.

I'm sure Mike has many, many moments
he will remember for a lifetime.

Like I said, his retirement date
and his birthday fell on the same day.
Happy birthday!

I'm not sure why his wife asked for two extra pages
in the album, but here they are.
I am hoping he will use them
to add some comments of his own.

One thing for sure,
Southwest Airlines has some beautiful planes.
And he was mighty lucky to fly them.

Happy retirement.
Happy birthday, Mike.

Three birthday cards and one thinking of you card

My friend requested these.
Not sure when the birthdays will be
so I'm going to post now.

I'm not saving the best (in my opinion) for last.
This card just makes me swoon.
I hope the recipient swoons, too, on her birthday.

Nothing says 'happy birthday' like
a birdie or flowers.

There's something about this bouquet
that speaks to me.
It's so upbeat and happy!
It would be great for an Autumn birthday,
don't you think?

I think this is perfect for
a thinking of you card.
It can be sent for any reason
and is sure to pick up anybody's that down.
