Finishing up August with a birthday or two

First up, let's wish a happy birthday to Katie!
I'm sure her day will be filled
with all things wonderful - just like she is.

I love the different shades of hot pinks
turning into purples.
And that grey lace works perfectly
with the grey basket.

Happy birthday, Katie!

Next up is Marilyn.
I'm sure you can guess her age.
How blessed is she?

There's just something about cacti and aqua
that makes my heart swoon!

Happy 80th birthday, Marilyn!

A great day for a birthday

Today is probably a hot one,
but a good day to celebrate a birthday!

Rachel's mom, Neome,
will be blowing out the birthday candles, no doubt.

Happy birthday to my friend's mamma!

Must be lots of people were born in August

It seems like I've been creating a lot of birthday cards
for August birthdays.

All I can think of is those poor pregnant mammas
that carried during the hot months.

I delivered in early July
but that was hot, too.

My daughter's friend is celebrating today.

Happy birthday, Bo.
I hope your day is spectacular!

Yesterday

Yesterday was my very good friend's birthday.
She is in Ohio.
I am in Texas.
Therefore, we didn't celebrate together.
But we spoke on the phone on Friday
and again yesterday.

I always try to put a home décor image on her cards.
Because that's what she loves.
Couldn't resist this beautiful chandi!

It's double-nickels for you this year.
Happy birthday, Debi!

I'm not sure when the birth date is
but it was celebrated yesterday.

My friend asked me if I have any pictures of alpacas.
He said it could be a "funny" or a "cute" card.
My response was this:
"I don't have any pictures, but I have a video
of a whole herd of alpacas chasing me."
Kinda difficult to put a video on a card though.

When I saw this image, I laughed
but when I looked closer,
I thought that little one was so cute.
Yep - checked those requests off the list.

A half of a century

Well, when you put it like that,
it sounds like she's really, really old.

But when you say "she's 50 today"
that doesn't sound quite so bad.

It's all relevant, isn't it?

Happy birthday, Lisa!

I know you celebrated with your family
this past weekend.
Even so … keep on kicking up your heels.

My friend, my friend

Julie is celebrating today!
She'll be going to Uncle Julio's
with the family.
Lots of grandbabies to love on.
It's what she loves the most.

Dropped this off at her house yesterday.
The picture looks just like
(a younger) Bella dog of hers.

A front and back picture
of a hanging card.
Perfect for her new scrapbook room!

Celebrate all month long!
And SOON we will go out and tear up the town
celebrating our birthdays.

60 Years ... how wonderful

My friend was invited to a party.
Not just ANY party,
but a 60 year wedding anniversary party.

Isn't that wonderful?

I was asked to create a special card for them.
Hope this fits the bill!

Deepest Sympathy

My financial man suddenly lost his father
resulting from complications to cancer treatments.
They anticipated a full recovery down the road,
but things took a different turn.
So sad!!!

This went out to the Boone family
just last week.

Deepest sympathy!

Thank you

I cannot even begin to tell you
how important it is to me
to send and receive a thank you note!!!

I mean - how else are you supposed to know
if people received it or liked it
or appreciated the gesture?
("It" being whatever you gave or did.)

Whatever it is,
send a thank you card!
Everybody's time is valuable
and everybody seems to be chasing the clock.
It takes time to choose a gift.
Let them know you appreciate them.

I recently had a birthday and four people
were extremely generous and thoughtful.
In return, I wanted to be thoughtful as well.
I wanted them to know that I received their gift
and that I appreciate them.

Each of them received a card in a timely fashion.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart!!!

How the heck did this happen?

My little friend.

Well, she used to be my little friend.
Now she towers over me.

Just cannot wrap my head around this.
She is going to be a junior in high school.
How the heck did this happen?

And today she celebrates her birthday.
Couldn't resist with this image for her card.

I don't usually share how I created a card
but this time I just have to.
I loved the background of the image
but couldn't find any paper that did it justice.
Then I pulled out my oxide inks
and look at that!
Almost a perfect match.

I hope all your wishes come true, Julia.
Happy birthday!!!
