Somebody special is celebrating today

And I bet somebody is getting spoiled, too.
As it should be.

Here is the card I sent to her.

A you can see, it's rather thick.
So, what do you do in this case?
You fold the flap inside the envelope,
open the card
and slide the right-hand side of the card
right into the envelope.

Once you've slid the card inside the envelope,
it looks like this.

And here's the front of the envelope
(where you would address it.)
This is fine if you are hand-delivering,
which I did not.
I just gift-wrapped the card
in tissue paper and a pretty bow
and placed it inside a bubble-wrap
shipping envelope
and I was good to go.

Happy birthday, Celeste.
I hope today is filled with sunshine, confetti and glitter.
Sparkle on!

Christmas Birds

If you've been following along,
you know I've been making bird tags
for the students on The Runner's bus.
Every Christmas, each of the kids
gets one of my birds.

Here is one from this past Christmas.

One day this week,
The Runner came home and said to me,
"I saw one of your birds today!"

WHAT?

When one of the dad's came to meet his daughter
at the bus stop,
my bird was hanging
from his rear view mirror in the car.

WHAT?

How cute is that?

I decided not to put away
my Christmas supplies at the end of the year.

My idea was to get ahead of the game.
Didn't work out exactly as planned.
I only got a dozen birds partially created.
Still needs all the pretties.

Well, better than nothing, right?

I'm gearing up for Mother's Day
and doubt I'll get back to making birds.

That means tomorrow,
my Christmas supplies go back into hibernation
until September.

Friends of my daughter

These two men celebrated the other day.
I hope your day was special.

Happy birthday, John and Al.

I'm sure it was a happy one!

I don't know if she received
a bouquet of flowers
but I know she received this card.
Sheneen, I hope your birthday was happy!

And yesterday, Gene celebrated, too.

I hope you celebrated with yet another glass of wine!

My mother's friend

... became my friend.
And today is my friend's birthday.

She usually gets a card with a bird.
This year, she got a sweet pink rose.

Happy birthday, Leta.
My wish is for you to have a healthy and happy year.

My sweet friend

My sweet friend's name is Loretta.
And she celebrated her birthday yesterday.
On Valentine's Day.
That's pretty special.
But not as special as Loretta.

I hope your day was spectacular.

The day of LOVE

I don't know about you
but I think every day should be
the day of LOVE.
Not just today.
But every day.

But since today is Valentine's Day,
let's celebrate some love!

And check out the inside:
I just love using the same image
on multiple cards - especially vintage images.
I never know exactly what I'm going to get.
But I'm always pleasantly surprised!
Check these out.

My daughter's friend

Today is Michele's birthday.

You probably don't know her.
But ...
Wherever you are.
Whatever you're doing.
Please wish her "happy birthday!"
Because everybody needs birthday wishes
on their special day.

Is this "girlie" enough?

I was asked to create a birthday card.
The criteria?
Black and white and red.
And girlie.

I think I was spot-on with each.

Donna, I'm sure your birthday was great.
And filled with all things "girlie!"

Wednesday, February 8, 2017

on this day ...

Carol was born.
And this world is a better place
because of her birth.
If you are fortunate enough to know her,
you will agree.
She's the best of the best.

Enjoy your birthday, my dear friend.

Bet you wish you were in that chair right now!

I miss you so much!

Ahead of schedule - on purpose!!!

Facebook is the best.
Through it, I reconnected
with a grade school friend.

We've talked here since May 2011
(can it really be that long?)

In our conversations,
of course, we talked about mutual friends.
Several have passed away.
She included two obituaries
in a Christmas card.

Our conversations always came back
to one person.
I mentioned that I had a picture of him
and promised to dig for it and send it to her.

That finally happened
so I included it in her Valentine's Day card.
Not only was the card a surprise,
but the picture was as well.

I mailed the card on February first.
Early, on purpose,
so that she could enjoy it before the holiday.
She received it!

Happy Valentine's Day, Joyce!

Birthdays deserve cards

And sometimes a cupcake, too.

Wouldn't you love to have
a window box full of flowers just like these?
I know I would.

Deen celebrated #90.
You'd never know she was that age
by looking at this picture!

Ladies, I know your birthdays were great
(or will be great.)
Just like you.
