Yesterday was Baptism Day

My daughter was the godmother for Elijah Jameson.
She asked me to create a card just for this day.
EJ is the son of her friend in Virginia Beach.

It wasn't your ordinary baptism though.
He was christened on the
USS George H. W. Bush CVN 77
currently at the Newport News Shipyard, Virginia.

Best part?
His name will be engraved inside the bell
that is located inside the chapel
onboard this mighty aircraft carrier!
Not many have this bragging right, do they?

EJ is now a child of God.

Another year older. Another year prettier!

It's Cass we're talking about, friends!

Today she celebrates.
One more year to add.
May it be a good one,
full of all things wonderful.

Happy birthday, Cass!!!!

!! Happy Anniversary !!

The anniversary date was a few days ago,
but I was asked to postpone posting.

I'm sure it's safe to share now though.
I just love the little heart "buds" on that branch,
don't you?

Happy Anniversary,
John and Andrea.

I can't believe I'm talking about this!!!!!

Football

Those of you that know me,
know very well than I detest football.

Every single thing about it.

Yet here I am posting not one, but two,
football-related cards.

Two days ago, Blake Jr. celebrated
birthday number 13.
Can you guess his favorite team?

Today his grampa celebrates.
Can you guess his favorite team?

Happy birthday, gentlemen!

Kathy Celebrated

… and hopefully still is!

This card fit right in with our weather yesterday,
on her special day, but not today.
It is FREEZING here.

I wish she had sunshine
and flowers the day after her birthday.
Perhaps the picnic can be postponed
until a warmer day surfaces.

Happy birthday, Kathy!

This was the best day

My daughter and son-in-law
are celebrating their anniversary today.

I cannot believe it's already been 26 years!
Yes - 26 years ago,
we were in Anchorage, Alaska,
gettin' it done!

The three of us stayed at a B&B
and I remember her being soooooooo
protective of her wedding dress.

"Be careful."
"Don't step on it."

And it went on and on and on and on.

Well, they married,
had a brief little celebration at a parishioner's home
and then out to dinner.

I dropped them off at the hotel,
kept the car and went back to our B&B.

In the morning when I picked them up
and they came out,
she had her wedding dress
all rolled up in a ball and under her arm
as if she was carrying a football.

It really was THE BEST DAY.

Happy anniversary, you two!

I knew it would eventually come in handy

I've been saving this image for a long time.
Something told me I'd eventually
have the opportunity to use it on a card.

Today was the day!
A police officer married another police officer.

I hope the Mr. and Mrs. enjoyed it.
Best wishes!

It's always more funner to have a birthday on a weekend

… more funner, huh?

Well, at least I think it is!!

Joanna celebrated yesterday
and my friend, Mia,
gifted her one of my cards.

Isn't this entryway inviting?

Celebrate all month long!!!

Is this perfect or what?

I searched and searched for the perfect image
for a Master Trainer.
How'd I do?

Dee celebrated his birthday yesterday
and I know his family made it
a special day for him.

Happy birthday, Dee!

It used to be a big deal - not so much any more

Eight years between my sister and me.
Growing up, it was a really big deal.
Big difference.
Especially during those younger years!!!

But now that she's caught up to me in age
(just kidding!)
those eight years don't seem to matter.

Yesterday she celebrated a birthday.
(Told you she's catching up.)

Tucked inside this card is a little
something-something.
Wonder how she'll spend it at Michael's!?!

Happy belated birthday, Dodie!

PS - I didn't forget.
The crazy post office wanted more postage
and the card was returned to me.
DANG!
And it fit just fine into the template
given to me by a postal worker.
What gives?

Let's celebrate an engagement and two birthdays

I just love how the heart frames
these joyous balloons
for the engaged couple.
As many happy years you can squeeze in,
that's my wish for you.

Up next is Tigger.
Nan loves this little character!
So why not have him on her birthday card?

This next birthday card
somehow got pushed to the back row
and never made it to the blog.
Karen celebrated in August.
So sorry this never got on here.
Too many irons in the fire.

Best wishes to the happy couple
and happy birthday to Nan and Karen.

A milestone

Yesterday my cousin, Nancy,
celebrated a big one.

Bet you can tell which one
by looking at the card.

Happy birthday, Cuz!!

Christening

My daughter requested I create a frame
using a photograph from Justice's christening.

How photogenic is this little man?

He is now a Child of God.

Not one, not two, but three!

He loves elephants!
So elephants he gets.
Not for real - but definitely on his birthday card.

I hope your birthday was fantastic, Henry!

Charlotte

I'll never forget her.
Ever!

She was my mother's best friend
and I like to think my mom was her best friend, too.

Today is her birthday - her heavenly birthday.
I made and sent her a birthday card
for as long as I can remember.

I won't stop just because she's no longer with us.
Except now, her daughter receives a card.
Just as a reminder that her mom's not forgotten.

Hugs and love!

One more sympathy card

It's always a sad time,
but sometimes even worse
when it's a child - a teenager.

So many things she will not experience.
So many things her parents won't witness.

Rest in peace, sweet one.

Navy Retirement

My daughter's friend just retired.
I'm not positive,
but I think they met while being on the
USS Ronald Reagan.

Of course, that's why I chose the image
for his card.

I must tell you,
she's one beautiful ship!
We were fortunate enough
to have a personal tour in 2006
when my daughter retired.

I cannot even begin to tell you
how honored and fortunate we were
to be able to see everything there was to see.

Happy retirement, Joe!

The days are drawing near ...

My sweetest little neighbor is moving.
She'll be gone in less than two weeks.

Fortunately, she will be celebrating
birthday number seven before they leave.
That means I can leave this tag on her door.

I am going to miss her more than you know.
Together, we decorated the breezeway
for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

It just won't be the same without her.
She would unexpectedly just knock on our door.
I've memorized that knock and always knew it was her.
She would leave little notes on our door
and here's the latest.
Yes, my eyes leaked when I read this one!
She used to come over to play
in The Playground.
I taught her how to make cards,
use the scary paper cutter, the Cuttlebug
and scissors, to name a few.
She now knows how to heat emboss
and how to lay out embellishments for cards.
Gosh but I'll miss her.

Happy #7, Jaylen.
