Celebrations in Chicagoland

Pat and her friends, no doubt,

celebrated the other day!

I know it was a happy day, Pat.

Happy belated birthday.

30 years!

In this day and age,

30 years of marriage is almost unheard of!

Congratulations to Lidia and Vincent.

How about another 30+ years?

Keep on honeymooning!!!

A quarter of a century

Wow - when you say it like that,

it seems like she's really old.

But in reality, 25 is extremely young!

It's all relative, isn't it?

Teryn's grandmother sent me pictures

and a poem and asked me to create

a maxi-card/mini album.

Her only prerequisite was that I include "25."

What better place than on the front cover?

I have been saving

these two organza flowers for years.

Because of their beauty,

I wanted to use them on something very special.

Then I started looking at the pictures.

There are blues in several of the pictures.

But there was a lot of purples, too.

So that's when I decided

to marry the two colors on this piece. 

 

If my memory serves me correctly,

Teryn was a year old here.

Triple birthday

David celebrates today.

I can't believe he's 60!

I remember him when he was just eight years old.

Even though the man in this picture

has nothing to do with David,

I had to use it
because it's somebody from my dad's

side of the family.

I'd love to know old this man was in this picture.

Something tells me he was about 60.

The same age as David!

Amazing, isn't it?
"Back in the day" people looked much older
that they would in 2017,
don't you agree?

Patti is David's friend.

And she celebrates today also.

And last but not least,

today would be Maria's birthday, too.

Even though you would think it's

pronounced Maria,

it isn't.

It's pronounced Mariah.

The day we got married,

I told her I already have a mother,

therefore, I won't be calling her "Mom."

I also told her I wasn't comfortable

calling her Maria - just seemed disrespectful.

I told her I'd be calling her M&M,

for Mamma Maria.

She got the biggest kick out of that

and it started the whole candy M&M thing

between the two of us.

Happy birthday in Heaven, M&M.

On the first day of Spring,
Donald joined the family.

It wasn't the name we chose.

But somehow (thanks, Daddy!) that became his name.

He went from playing with Hot Wheels

to riding even hotter wheels.

Yes - it has been.

It's 47 years ago today.

The eve of my second child's birth.

I didn't look very happy here.

But I was extremely happy.

Just not very comfortable!

This child needed to be born!

Can't believe EJ is a year old today.

I'm not sure if he'll have a "1" on his shirt

or a "Children's" party.

But I'm guessing he'll have a cake!
Wonder if Humpty Dumpty will visit him!?!

Almost a St. Patrick's Day Baby

Mary Jane celebrates today.

Please help me wish her a "happy birthday."

Somebody told me that she loves flowers.

Therefore, this is the image I chose.
And then I proceeded to embellish it
with these scrumptious flowers and leaves.

I've never met her

but I swear I saw her.

A couple of years ago,

as I was standing at the register at JoAnn's,

I looked up at the door and in she walked.

Well, in my mind, it was her.

The woman that entered the store

was a spittin' image of Sandi.

Even though I'd never seen her in person,

and only saw pictures of her on her blog,

that woman could have passed as Sandi's twin.

I couldn't resist sending her a birthday card.

She received it the other day.

Just a couple of days early.

Just the way I like for my cards to arrive.

The weather is warming up.

Know what that means?

It's almost carnival/fair time.

And all the delicious food!

I'm more of a walk the grounds

and wear silly balloons on my head

kinda gal.

Although, I would be game to ride a horse

on the merry-go-round.

But never in a gazillion years

for a gazillion amount of money

would you ever catch me on a ferris wheel.

Nope - never.
