Happy birthday, Bill

For all he put me through growing up,
he shouldn't get a birthday card from me!
Bet you couldn't find two cousins
that fought more than we did.

Some of those arguments
were because of what he made me do.
You see, he loved (and still loves) cars.
His dad used to take him to all the car dealerships
in the small town where we lived.
He'd collect all the brochures
one for me and one for him.
And then he used to make me play
"car school."
You heard me right.
Car School.
WHO plays car school?

He gave me homework and told me
to study the brochures.
Then he'd give me written tests.

He loved his red pencil!
And his favorite grade was an "F" - must have been
his favorite because that's what he always gave me.
I'm still traumatized!

Now that we're a little older,
we don't fight any more.
And we don't play that silly car school either.

Now we recommend good books to each other.
Hence, the image on his birthday card.

!! Shocker !!
He spent Father's Day going to a car show.
Suppose he's surprising me with a new car?
For all of the bad grades he used to give me?
Well he should, don't you agree?

Happy birthday, Billy.
You see, he'll always be Billy to me!

I'm behind ...

I was on time - even early
on getting the cards finished.
Just not on time for posting them here.
Shame on me!

Going to start out with two sympathy cards.
Don't like making these
but I know how important it is to receive.
A few weeks ago, my mother's best friend
joined her husband and my parents in heaven.
I'm sure they are having a grand time
playing cards!

Diane retired and got this lovely card.

Art had another birthday.

Mark and Julie celebrated another year together.

What I love about the not-necessarily newlyweds
is that they are still in love
and aren't afraid to show it.
Just look at these two love birds.
Aren't they endearing?

My grandson, Andy, turned 29 the other day.
HOW can that be?
I couldn't resist using this picture.
Wish I could remember how old he was then.

Our good friend, Dave,
recently celebrated.
We always sit with them at the outdoor concerts
so I thought this image was perfect.

Brian the chemist celebrated.
How apropos that I found this image.

Tiffany recently added another year.

I wrote in the card to Beverly
"you'll be my friend 'til the cows come home."

I told you I'm late in my postings.
My good friend, Pat, celebrated in May.
Yes, I am that far behind.

I hope to do better in the future!

Happy Father's Day

My wish is that all fathers,
bonus fathers and
fathers-to-be are honored today.

A few cards
and a framed picture of father and son ...

Happy Father's Day to my dad.
I wish he were here to enjoy this day.

A beautiful birthday celebration

My friend's mother celebrates 93 years today!
May your year be the best ever
filled with happiness and good health.

Happy birthday, Frances, and God bless.

!!! Happy Birthday !!!

If they were alive today,
I'm sure my mother would have made
one of these cakes for him.
It was her specialty.
Yes - chocolate cake with sea foam icing.
I can taste it now.

Not sure how many years ago this was
or how old he was,
but by the looks of all these candles,
he was no Spring chicken.

I think he was directing the choir
as they sang to him.

Happy birthday, Daggett.
I love you and I miss you, Daddy!!!!!!!!!
