One more "happy birthday" card

This one goes to Kathleen.

My friend, Pat, is the best at sending cards.
What a wonderful way to remember a special someone.

Mark works on planes

And that's why there's an airplane on the tag.
And the stars?
Because he's HER SHINING STAR.

Happy birthday, Mark!

A Birthday Bash

I am so fortunate to have such good friends.
Really fortunate!

My friend, Deborah, celebrated her birthday last week.
Her friend, Adela, celebrated her birthday last week as well.
Deborah owns a sweet, sweet retreat nearby.

Deborah opened The Craft-In Retreat House for a birthday bash.
We had the best time and learned some new tricks and projects.
We ate a delicious lunch and some great munchies.

A German chocolate cake was served.
Nope - didn't even taste it.
I'm STILL not eating chocolate.
Not since September 1 ... that's 267 days without chocolate.
I didn't think I could do it, but I did.

Here's the card I made for Deborah.

She told me she was going to hang in on the coat hanger
that I created for her last year.
Awwwwwwww - warmed my heart!
The colors work perfectly!

And this corsage.

  And this little peat pot.

Of course, it had to be turquoise so go in her craft room!!!

Even though I didn't know Adela, I made her a little corsage, too.

Thanks, girls, for inviting me.
What a great day to spend indoors with old and new friends on a rainy day.

First my vendor - and then my friend

"Back in the day" Pat was my vendor.
She soon became my friend.
And still is.

I will never forget the birthday when Debi and I took her to lunch.
We involved the waiters.
They came every now and then to our table and tied a balloon to Pat.
In her pony tail.
On her wrist.
On her other wrist.
On the button of her sweater.

We had a great lunch - with lots of laughs.

Happy birthday, Pat!

To my friend, Lynne

Lots of history here.
But we'll just go with "FRIENDS"
and make it simple.

I hope your day is filled with everything sweet.
Just like you.

Happy birthday, John.
I hope you do exactly what you want to do today.

Because it's YOUR DAY.

Enjoy the festivities held in your honor.

Granddaughter and Grandmother

First with the granddaughter.
She celebrated her special day yesterday.
Happy birthday, Nikki.

Had her mamma held out just one more day,
she would have been born on her grandmother's birthday.

Happy birthday, Pat.
I used to live across the street from Pat and we spent some time together.
Most of the time was very early in the morning.
We used to walk for an hour beginning at 5:00.
Mind you, this was in Ohio and we walked no matter what the weather was doing.

I remember walking in snow that was up to my knees
and the wind was howling and blowing.
But we walked.
And we talked.
And we laughed.
And one time we saw through an opened window a man with no pants on.
We laughed some more.
A lot more!!!

One time we were scared to death because a car had come up behind us.
And stopped.
With the headlights aimed straight at us.
We were in a cul de sac with nowhere to go.
We just kept walking in circles until the car left.
That evening we found out it was Pat's husband, Bob-a-booie.
He said he was just checking to make sure we were okay.

It was Pat that got me started on this paper crafting
and card making merry-go-round.
Thanks, Pat, for believing in me.

Happy birthday from The Runner and me.
It's very difficult to read this, but the image says:
"Spring 1896
The Storrs & Harrison Co.
Painesville, OHIO"

I would love to know if this was an actual establishment.
How ironic that the town we lived in
was Painesville, Ohio.

And happy birthday from her son and daughter-in-law.

I'm sure she will have a "happy day" ...

As promised ...

Here are the remaining 2015 Mother's Day cards.
My wish is that everybody had a wonderful day yesterday
and was spoiled silly.

I'm hoping that my cards put a smile on every single face
when they opened theirs.
(They were all made with love!)

Norma, I just know that Jose and your three children honored you
the way you deserve to be honored.
Other than on this card, did you receive white roses?

Jose's mamma and Norma's mamma received one, too.

Lisa and Lori (sisters) have added to their card collection again this year.

Lucky Kay ...
one from her daughter and one from her husband.

Macie has been receiving my Mother's Day cards for years.
Here's one more to add to the collection.

And one for Macie's daughter, too.
Pat has been sending her loved ones my cards since 2003
and I just love that those loved ones send her one of my cards every once in a while.
Perfect!

Kerri's mamma received her first card of mine.
Hoping she loved it!

Phyllis, sweet Phyllis.
Your daughter loves you!

Vicki, you know you are loved when your husband treats you to this!

Lauren celebrated her very first Mother's Day this year.

... and XC's twin girls have made her a mamma.

LeeAnn's mom, mother-in-law
and her daughter, Allyson, received cards as well.

Another first-time mamma celebrated her first Mother's Day.
I'm sure Nick spoiled you, Stephanie!!!

Nick spoiled his own mamma, too.

... and his mother-in-law as well!

Well, that's it for this year.
These are my most favorite cards to make.
I can bust out my glitter, bling, flowers and lace and go to town.

It is always bittersweet for me to make Mother's Day cards.
I'd give anything to be able to be able to honor my mother just one more year.
Sadly, that isn't to be.
I miss you, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day

So very true!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there
and especially to MY MOM.
She was the best and I miss her every single day.

My mother lost her life to cancer in 2006.
The first Mother's Day without her, I created this mini album for my sister.

It's difficult to read these, I know - so I will narrate.

She made the world a better place ...

CELEBRATE HER

She made a wish and we came true ...

CELEBRATE HER WISHES

She designed a life she loved ...

CELEBRATE HER JOY

She had a way of brightening the day ...

CELEBRATE HER RADIANCE

She gave from the heart ...

CELEBRATE HER GIFTS

She loved her family ...

CELEBRATE HER LOVE

Perhaps God is a Poet
~ author unknown ~

Perhaps God is a poet
who writes with words
of flesh and bone and leaf and flower.

Every hour of every day,
words pour out of the poet's heart,
and every word is beautiful and true
and worth the telling.

And when each poem is perfect,
and there is no more which ought to be said,
the poet gently takes the words
back into his heart, where they are safe forever ...
and then begins again.

One more thing ... I would not be a mother without my two.
I love you, Alescia and Donald.

Stay tuned.
Tomorrow you can view the remainder of the Mother's Day cards
that I created this year.
I am making sure that everybody has received theirs before posting.

Happy Anniversary to my Cuz

My cuz
is giving one of my cards to her groom.

Happy Anniversary, love birds!
