Either or ...

Not being sure how many masculine cards
and how many feminine cards to create,
I chose a few that can be given to either a man or a woman.

This one was challenging
but enjoyable to create.
Rather than a sheet of background paper,
I collaged several sheets.

Doesn't matter.
Men drink coffee and so do women.
And if they've done something nice,
they deserve to be thanked!

Texture.
That's what this card is all about.
I used some old supplies and some new.

Last but not least,
just like all the rest,
this one will say "thank you for ..."

I wish to say "thank you" to my friend, Beverly,
for trusting me with such a job.
It was my pleasure.

More Thank You Cards

Are you ready to see some girly cards?
Well, wait no longer.

Another paper doll.
And another background
I created at my friend's home.
Isn't she lovely?

As promised, lace and pearls
and flowers and bows and more flowers.

How fun to get to frame this can of flowers!

Yes, another oxide ink background.
I think this particular color,
paired with the purple flowers
is beautiful.

Gosh - I didn't realize I'd made so many
backgrounds using the oxides.
This was a fun one!

One more oxide background,
but I did this one at home.
I cannot believe that this card took me
four and a half HOURS to create.
I've not made so many layers in a long time.
End result?  Let me hear it from you.

Simple but beautiful.
There's nothing like a large sunflower
to say "thanks!"

Lacy doily,
bowls and flowers.
Yep - it's girly.
Hoping the recipient loves it.

This one has such a vintage feel
and it was fun to create.
And who doesn't love a pot of hydrangeas?

Letters tied up with string.
Pinks and flowers.
A perfect card to say "thank you!"

Tomorrow I'll share the cards
that can be masculine or feminine.

THIS right here is how you send out thank you cards!!!

My friend asked me to make her some thank you cards.
Not just "some" but 20!!!

They'll all go to co-workers.
Some men, and some women.

First up are the manly cards.

What can I say?
I just adore creating with the paper dolls.
To me, they give a card so much more personality.

LOL - did you notice I sewed?
Yessiree, I sewed the arrow onto the burlap.
Now I didn't say I did a good job.
I just said I sewed.

A friend of mine and I had a play day
and I showed her how to use the oxide inks.
While at her house,
I made the background of this card.
I had no image in mind, but this certainly works.

I always seem to forget about some of my supplies.
It's been ages since I used my Torn Notebook die.
I'm happy how it looks.
Thanks for the die, Julie!

Here's another background I created
while at my friend's home.
Fortunately, I found an image that works perfectly.

Here's another oxide ink background created
during our play day.
You've heard me mention that I don't often
put sentiments on the front or on the inside of my cards.

But, after seeing the hole in these boots,
and this IS a thank you card,
I couldn't resist this sentiment!

Stay tuned tomorrow to see the girly cards.
These six "boy cards" about did me in
without using any glitter, flowers, lace or ribbons.

My Biker Son

He's a Harley rider and that's why he got this card.
Works for me
and I think it works for him, too.

Happy birthday, big guy!

Birthday and All-Occasion

Sometimes people want their cards to say "Happy Birthday"
so that's what they get.

Most of the time,
if there is no sentiment,
my cards can be sent for any occasion.

These three cards,
have a "birthday" sentiment on the front.

These two are for any occasion.
I'm wondering what occasion she'll choose.

Well shucks ... who doesn't love Dr. Seuss?

EJ loves all of his books!
And that means he gets a Seuss card, too.

Happy birthday!

A couple thank you cards

I have the best friends!
I got beautiful roses from two different friends
when I came home from the hospital.

Of course, I had to send little thank you cards
to express my gratitude.

The roses in both vases are still beautiful.
I love them and I love my friends.

The roses I received from one friend
look just like those in this image.

Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
They certainly helped boost my spirits.

Yesterday, she celebrated

I was told she loves to garden.
That's why her cards are full of flowers.
And these she didn't even have to tend to.

Here's hoping your birthday was the best ever, Mary Jane!

Did you ever lose a whole month?

Well golly, I sure did!
I spent three days in the hospital
the first of February.
And then I spent four days in the hospital
the end of February.
In between was spent in a drug-induced stupor.

Wasn't fun, let me tell you.
Fortunately, I was ahead of schedule
on making cards.
But I wasn't ahead of schedule
in writing and scheduling blog posts.

Therefore, JR and Kay's anniversary card is late
to being shared.
Really late.
At least they received it on time!

Many, many years for them.
Keep on honeymooning, you two!
